At the weekend, reports from the Spanish media claimed that Fulham and West Ham United are both interested in São Paulo midfielder Pablo Maia.

It was said the player could cost just €7m, and that made him an attractive option for the Whites and Hammers.

However, as journalist Jorge Nicola now features a video talking about that chase, he claims that Fulham and West Ham would actually need to pay a little more to get it done.

The reporter says the €7m request never existed. Not even last summer, when São Paulo had already been demanding at least €10m for his departure.

It’s claimed that the Brazilian club will only accept negotiating the midfielder’s sale for at least €15m next year.

The journalist also doesn’t confirm the interest from Fulham and West Ham, even though the player had been linked to the Craven Cottage side in the recent past.

It makes sense that Maia will only leave for €15m. The midfielder had a great year at São Paulo and will definitely be chased by several clubs, especially from English football, so São Paulo have no reason to let him go for so little.

Aston Villa, West Ham United, Fulham and Brentford are all in the picture for AS Roma’s Tammy Abraham, according to Calciomercato.it.

The Villans had shown interest in the striker in the last window but were forced to end that after he suffered an injury, and the setback has had an impact on his valuation.

However, the 26-year-old hasn’t lost his appeal in England with Aston Villa, West Ham, Fulham and Brentford said to be keeping close tabs on his situation.

It’s said these four Premier League sides are ‘still vigilant and determined to obtain new information’ about the former Chelsea man.

The report says José Mourinho’s side have a desire to sell the England international to a Premier League club. Apart from Aston Villa, West Ham, Fulham and Brentford, Calciomercato.it state the Blues shouldn’t be overlooked.

The Serie A side have already signed Romelu Lukaku on loan from the west London club in the last window and their dream would be to carry out a swap deal involving Abraham and the Belgium international.

Abraham, who came up through the ranks of Chelsea’s academy, spent five years with their first team before he joined Roma in a permanent transfer in 2021.

Last season, Saïd Benrahma starred for West Ham United, managing 12 goals and five assists from 50 games. That included a goal in the Europa Conference League final win over Fiorentina.

The Algeria international has failed to replicate the same form this season, and has an assist from 12 games. In addition to this, he has been reduced to substitute’s role in the league, clocking in just 88 minutes from the last six games.

According to Algeria’s Fennec Football, the winger is not pleased with his current situation at West Ham.

It’s claimed the 28-year-old ‘intends to make a radical decision’ over his future given he’s not had a prominent role under David Moyes in the last two months.

Although he has a deal lasting until 2026, the report states the current situation has made the player ‘seriously consider changing’ clubs in January.

Despite his recent dip in form, Fennec Football have found out from sources close to the former Brentford man’s entourage that he could leave West Ham in a few months for a club that can offer him more playing time.

It’ll be interesting to know West Ham’s stance on the possibility of letting Benrahma leave, either in January or next summer.

Crystal Palace and West Ham United will be given a second shot at Paris Saint Germain striker Hugo Ekitike in the January transfer window as the French giants desperately look to move him on.

That’s according to Foot Mercato, who say an unnamed Premier League side are ‘still very interested’ in the forward and ‘could go on the offensive’ for him in January.

They explain that Ekitike is currently ‘persona non grata’ at PSG, training without any hope of playing after the club made it clear they don’t want him.

He’s not a part of their project moving forwards and Nasser Al-Khelaïfi and Luis Campos did everything they could to get rid at the end of the summer window.

Crystal Palace, West Ham, Lens and even Eintracht Frankfurt ‘surveyed the field’ and considered a move but nothing came to fruition at the end of the window.

It was the latter who looked most likely as PSG tried to include him in the deal for Randal Kolo Muani, but they couldn’t get it over the line and Ekitike was left out in the cold.

He’s ‘patiently biding his time’ and waiting until the January transfer window which will ‘undoubtedly involve’ a departure.

His value has melted away because of his situation but his popularity has not and there is still a market for him, particularly among the clubs looking for a number nine.

Interest is certainly growing in the Premier League where a club ‘whose name has not been leaked’ are ‘still very interested’ in a deal and could make their move.

Foot Mercato refuse to name them, or simply cannot, but given they state both Crystal Palace and West Ham were keen in the summer earlier in their article it’s not a stretch to imagine it is one of them, particularly as it’s later claimed the English club are ‘still very interested’.

That would suggest it was one of the clubs who wanted a deal in the summer and those two were certainly the most linked.

Whether they can now get a deal over the line remains to be seen but the opportunity is there as PSG are desperate to work something out.

Fulham, Manchester United, Tottenham and West Ham are all ‘willing to spend’ to secure the signing of Uruguayan defender Sebastián Cáceres from CF America.

That’s according to Fanaticos, who cover the player today and the Premier League quartet’s willingness to spend what is required to secure his signature.

Cáceres has found himself increasingly linked with a move to Europe over the last few weeks, with Tottenham in particular thought to be keen on him.

Fanaticos back this up and say with the pre-planning for the January transfer window in Europe starting to heat up, America are one of the clubs that could be most affected.

There is growing interest in Cáceres from England, with Fulham, Manchester United, Tottenham and West Ham all having shown an interest and a wiliness to spend the money required to get him.

His performances in the games between September and October have been ‘exceptional’, helping to raise his profile and generate interest in Europe too.

America are not willing to let their jewel go ‘easily’, though, and sources close to the club have confirmed to Fanaticos that the board are asking for no less than $5m for their player. That would work out at around £4.1m.

Such a figure would seemingly be no problem for any of the clubs, with Fulham, Manchester United, Spurs and West Ham all paying considerably higher fees last summer alone.

That’s the asking price either way and American seem to think that someone will pay it for Cáceres eventually, with Fanaticos adding that they’re already hunting for a replacement.

Earlier this week, we relayed news from Italy explaining that West Ham United have identified Juventus’ Manuel Locatelli as an ideal successor for Tomáš Souček.

The Czech Republic international’s deal lasts until 2024 and the Italian media haven’t taken into account that the Hammers have an option to extend it for another year.

Irrespective of Souček’s situation, West Ham seem to have an interest in Locatelli if a report from Tutto Juve is to be believed.

The midfielder has been a regular for the Serie A side this season, and has managed a goal and an assist from nine games. His form has seen David Moyes’ side take notice.

It’s claimed the Italy international is ‘liked’ by the Europa Conference League winners, so much so that they are ‘ready to offer’ €40m to secure his services. Tutto Juve make no mention if the London club are looking to sign the player in January or next summer.

Either way, a deal would be difficult to carry out because the Old Lady have no plans to let go of Locatelli. His current deal expires in 2026 and Juve’s desire is to start negotiations shortly to renew the contract.

Three days ago, Locatelli’s agent insisted that his client is happy at Juve and has never considered changing clubs. This is another factor that would make it complicated for West Ham to sign him.

It’s now West Ham United who are named as contenders to sign Manuel Locatelli from Juventus.

Website CalcioMercato.it today writes that as the midfielder excels for the Old Lady, there are ‘Premier League sirens’ for him.

Since West Ham could lose Tomas Soucek at the end of the season, something the Italian media won’t shut up about, the report says we should ‘watch out’ for the Hammers, who could go for Lucatelli as the ‘ideal successor’.

Juventus reportedly set a price for the Italian’s departure, and that’s at least €40m.

Now if Locatelli would accept leaving the Old Lady for West Ham is a whole different story, as the interest from the Hammers may not be enough.

With the midfielder also linked to Brighton, this week his agent made clear that a move to the Seagulls was never in consideration during the summer, as the player always wanted to stay at Juventus.

The agent made clear that stance hasn’t changed since, and Locatelli is happy at Juventus.

That may be a sign for West Ham that very convincing arguments would be needed to attract Locatelli to the club, besides affording the €40m requested by the Serie A giants.

Vangelis Pavlidis’ fine displays for AZ Alkmaar have seen him linked to the likes of West Ham United and a few other clubs in recent days.

Last season, the striker managed 22 goals and 14 assists from 40 games and has extended his impressive form into this season as he has scored 14 goals and registered three assists from 15 games.

Latest claims in the UK have stated West Ham are looking to bolster their attack in January and have their eyes set on the 24-year-old.

Former AZ star Kenneth Perez discussed the Greece international’s form during ESPN NL’s Dit was het Weekend, relayed by Soccernews.nl.

“I always remain conservative with Pavlidis about how good he actually is. What’s in it for him? Internationally, that he does not play for Greece, which of course may also have to do with the manager,” he said.

The Dane has also sent a message to the likes of David Moyes’ side and other foreign clubs interested in the frontman.

“It also depends on the competition we are talking about. If he plays in the Netherlands for the rest of his life, he will be a very good striker. If I had €20m, I wouldn’t buy him,” Perez explained.

The 49-year-old is of the belief that Pavlidis’ pace is his ‘weakness’ for him to replicate his Eredivisie form in a top competition. This is why West Ham should perhaps look for another attacker, if they want to strengthen their squad in the winter market.

Borussia Dortmund were keen to sign Edson Álvarez before he completed his move to West Ham United from Ajax in the last window.

Last month, the 26-year-old insisted he’s delighted to have joined the Hammers after his move to BVB didn’t take shape.

Speaking to Sky Deutschland journalist Florian Plettenberg, the midfielder has reiterated that he’s pleased to be at West Ham after he came “so close” to joining the German club.

West Ham appointed Tim Steidten as their new technical director in the summer and he had a key role in convincing the player to join David Moyes’ side.

When asked about Steidten, he said“It was funny because he called me and said, ‘listen, I want you for my new project. You’re my first player. I know what you can give us’. He gave me confidence and the opportunity. Then I told him, ‘Tim, if you really want me, I am with you. I want to play for West Ham in the Premier League’.”

The Mexico international has also said Bayern Munich showed interest towards the end of the last window.

“It was a very busy summer. In the last weeks (of the transfer window), I knew about the interest from FC Bayern,” Álvarez explained.

“Everything can happen. I’m always open, but at the moment, I’m really enjoying my time at West Ham. I want to play and show the people my best qualities. But in the summer, you never know what’s going on.”

The former Ajax man’s deal lasts until 2028 and this gives David Moyes’ side some power over his future.

Álvarez has made 10 appearances for West Ham, and insisted that he’s “very happy” with his transfer and the start to his life at the London club.

Fenerbahçe’s İsmail Yüksek have emerged as a transfer target for Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United, according to a report.

The Yellow Canaries have won all their league games this season and that has seen them sit top of the table. They are also unbeaten in the Europa League, and the midfielder has been one of the key players for them, managing a goal and two assists from 14 games.

Akşam state the 24-year-old’s fine displays have caught the attention of Tottenham and West Ham, and both these clubs are ‘after him’.

The Turkey international has extended his good run with the national team against Croatia and Latvia in the European qualifiers earlier this month. That saw him attract attention from several clubs, including Napoli and Bayer Leverkusen.

It’s said Tottenham are added to this list as the Premier League duo are also showing interest in Yüksek. The report explains that these four clubs ‘will watch’ the player until January.

Yüksek has a deal lasting until 2027 and it needs to be seen whether he’ll be open to leaving the Yellow Canaries in the winter market, if one of the clubs were to make an approach for him.
