Prior to Norwich City’s EFL Cup clash against Fulham tonight, the Brazilian media have had a chat with Canaries’ midfielder Gabriel Sara.

Following his first year in the Championship, the 24-year-old is off to another good start to the season with one goal and three assists in the league so far, and is quite glad about his adaptation to English football.

Speaking to Lance, Sara also thanked the support he’s been getting from Norwich City fans since his arrival at the club.

“My adaptation to the game and to life here has really been quicker than I imagined,” he told the outlet.

“I already feel at home in England, and I’m at a loss for words to repay the fans’ affection.

“Unfortunately, we missed out on the Premier League last season, but I think we’ve got a great chance of making it this year.”

Regarding tonight’s game against Fulham, Sara claims to be happy to be facing a team which is full of Brazilians, and says he’ll try to make the most of that experience.

“It’s going to be a very tough game, that’s for sure, especially at their place,” he added.

“It’s a privilege to face players with so much history here in England, like Willian and Andreas (Pereira), who are guys I’ve admired for years. But our team has its weapons and I hope to have a great night, keep up my good form and help Norwich come out qualified.”

Norwich City spent €10.5m to sign Sara from São Paulo in the summer of 2022. It didn’t take long for him to guarantee his place in the team, and with an even higher morale this season, he was a starter in all of their Championship games so far.

Transfermarkt valued the player at €5.5m when he made the move to England, and now rates him at €12m. His contract with the Canaries runs until 2026, with an option for an extra year.

Portuguese football clubs often publish lists of officials and guests at their matches, and this includes scouts from other clubs.

It’s been going on for years and is a way to see which clubs are taking an interest in players, often long before actual transfer efforts are made by them.

Norwich City aren’t one of those seen regularly in Portugal, that would instead be bigger spenders such as Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham.

However, A Bola report that on Saturday Norwich sent an official to the match between Vizela and Benfica. The latter face RB Salzburg in their first Champions League group game this week, whereas Norwich’s next match is against Leicester City.

Others clubs with scouts in attendance included Atletico Madrid, AS Monaco and PSV Eindhoven.

Benfica won the match 2-1 with goals from Peter Musa and Angel Di Maria. It’s likely any Norwich transfer attention would either be on a Benfica fringe player or someone from Vizela, they’re not really in the market to take the Lisbon club’s best players away.

Norwich City have an agreement for the signing of Palmeiras youngster Pedro Lima, according to reports from Brazil.

Outlet Nosso Palestra were the one breaking the news on Wednesday morning, claiming there were ‘advanced negotiations’ for him to be loaned to the Canaries for a year.

Later on, ESPN Brasil came up to back up the news, saying Palmeiras and Norwich already have a deal agreed for the move.

The 20-year-old is indeed moving on a one-year loan, but the Canaries will not have an option to buy him.

Pedro Lima is expected to fly to England on Friday to have his medicals and sign the contract with Norwich City.

At first, he’s expected to join the Canaries’ U-21 squad, and he should have his debut against Chelsea next week.

According to ESPN, Norwich City plan to work his physical strength in the first few months, and then have him playing for the first-team by the end of the season.

Lima only has one appearance for Palmeiras’ first team, and is seen by the club as a prospect with great potential.

Besiktas are currently in talks to sign Milot Rashica from Norwich City, according to reports from Turkey.

On Twitter, journalist Gokmen Ozcan first wrote that the Istanbul side moved after their manager recommended the signing.

Then with an update, the reporter claimed that there’s already been a meeting between Besiktas, Norwich City and Rashica’s camp for the transfer.

It turns out that later on, Sports Digitale journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu showed up to say that the player is ready to make the move.

The 27-year-old is expected in Turkey tonight to have his medical and sign for Besiktas.

So far, none of the journalists said how much this deal will cost, or even if it’s a loan or a permanent deal.

A move to Istanbul is nothing new for Rashica, as he spent last season loaned to Galatasaray.

Signed by Norwich City in a €11m transfer from Werder Bremen in 2021, the player ended up only having one season playing for the Canaries, where he had two goals and three assists in 40 appearances.

Rashica’s contract with the Championship side runs until 2025, and he’s now valued by Transfermarkt at €8.5m.

Norwich City summer signing Christian Fassnacht has hailed the infrastructure at the club, believing they belong in the Premier League.

That midfielder has been speaking to Blick in Switzerland after swapping the country for England in a €3m move this summer.

He is one of several new signings to have arrived at Norwich as part of their efforts to strengthen the squad in this window and get back to the Premier League once again.

The move to Norwich has brought an end to a six year stay with Young Boys, whom he joined in a €1.5m deal in June 2017 and went on to make over 251 appearances for, managing 75 goals and 43 assists in that time.

Those are certainly numbers Norwich will be hoping he can recreate during his time at Carrow Road, with them determined to bounce back from a miserable campaign last year.

A 13th placed finish was far below what many were expecting from a team who often considered among the promotion favourites each year and have been in and out of the Premier League over the last two decades.

They’ve been up and down the two leagues since 2019, earning promotion that year with a first placed finish before finishing 20th the following year. That process was repeated in the next two seasons before last year’s disappointment ended the cycle.

Fassnacht, though, insists they are a team who are meant to be in the top flight, and that’s demonstrated by the standards behind the scenes.

“There are good guys here. And I also like the way football is played. There’s a lot of speed in there, a high intensity,” he said.

“I want to develop as a footballer and as a person. In terms of name and reputation, it belongs in the Premier League. We don’t even have to talk about the infrastructure. It’s just phenomenal.

“The campus here is in a different league! For example, we always do our training session in three places.

“If we are on the last lawn towards the end of the training session, the first one is already being mowed and cared for.”

Loaned to Galatasaray last season, Milot Rashica impressed quite a lot, to the point where the Norwich City player is now in talks to stay there permanently.

The forward has since moved back to the Canaries after the loan deal expired, but that hasn’t stopped the two clubs from trying to work something out.

In fact, it’s really close to being completed, as Turkish journalist Nevzat Dindar spoke to Skorer TV, relayed by Milliyet about the Norwich City player’s likely exit.

He started off by simply saying that he believed the transfer ‘will end this week’, with the two club ‘continuing’ their talks regarding a potential transfer.

He continued: “The process did not start positively. It went from €11m, to €8m. Galatasaray, on the other hand, gave up €6.5m. According to the information I received, the Rashica transfer will end this week.”

Dindar adds that the Norwich City forward ‘insists’ on getting the move, and he fully expects the transfer to be announced after their Champions League qualifier against NK Olimpija Ljubljana.

That’s set to take place on Tuesday night at 8pm, meaning the Norwich player’s exit could be announced as soon as Wednesday in his eyes.

Portuguese newspaper Record today brings a short story about Norwich City’s interest in Sporting winger Rafael Camacho.

The outlet claims that the Championship side had ‘shown their desire’ to sign the 23-year-old this summer, but aren’t expected to succeed.

It’s said a move to Norwich City is ‘ruled out’ because the player’s intention is to join Famalicão.

A meeting between his entourage and the Portuguese club took place last week, and new talks are scheduled for the coming days.

That’s a short story with not many details about it. So it isn’t even said if it’s Norwich City or Famalicão who were keen on making the biggest offer for the move.

Camacho belongs to Sporting since 2019, when he joined from Liverpool on a €5m deal, but hasn’t been used by the Lions lately. He spent the past few years on loan, and played for Greek side Aris Saloniki last season.

That means the Lisbon side are keen on negotiating him on a permanent move this summer, especially because his contract expires next year. But it seems it’s the player himself who’s not keen on returning to England, where he also spent years at Manchester City’s youth ranks.

The Portuguese media today covers Norwich City and Watford interest in Sporting winger Rafael Camacho.

Following reports from the English press saying the Canaries and Hornets were keen on the player, newspaper Record shows up to back up the claims.

There’s even a chance Norwich and Watford could sign Camacho for free. That’s because the player knows he’s not in Sporting’s plans and currently negotiates the end of his contract, which expires in 2024.

There is, however an impasse in the talks between him and Sporting, as the club actually demand €7m to let him go this summer. So in their understanding, that would be the easiest path for the Canaries and Hornets.

It turns out that as newspaper A Bola also features a piece on Camacho, they mention Watford, saying they compete with the signing against Casa Pia and Chaves. Their story has no mention of Norwich City, though.

This story is actually more optimistic about the winger’s contract rescission, with them claiming that it will allow Sporting to save a lot of money from his salary. So it seems there’s a real chance the 23-year-old can be signed for free.

Norwich City had two former São Paulo players in their squad last season.

One is Marquinhos, who had a loan spell from Arsenal and now should now return to the Gunners. The other is Gabriel Sara, who moved last summer on a €10.5m deal and proved to be a good investment for the Canaries.

It turns out that Norwich City are now after two more players from the Brazilian club. That’s revealed by São Paulo Blog.

Their main story is about Rodriguinho. The 18-year-old is having his breakthrough in the first team and is reportedly drawing the interest from several clubs.

It’s claimed that six sides recently sent scouts to watch him in action. Norwich City were one of them, although there’s a tough competition from the likes of PSV and Paris Saint Germain.

In the same story about Rodriguinho, São Paulo blog adds that the Canaries also ‘want Nathan’, a 20-year-old right-back who’s also getting his first minutes in the first team.

Since Norwich City already have an open channel with São Paulo, we shall see how those negotiations develop.

Brazilian outlet Globo Esporte today shares an interesting article on the future of Norwich City midfielder Gabriel Sara.

The story’s main focus is on his former club, São Paulo. When agreeing his sale to the Canaries, the club kept 10% of a future move. Now his good first season in the Championship gives them hope of making some more profit this summer.

It’s said that even though there have been no advanced contacts for Sara so far, scouts from Premier League clubs have been giving special attention to the Norwich City player.

Globo Esporte adds that the 23-year-old is also linked to Atletico Madrid, who follow his development.

It’s claimed that the Brazilian and his staff ‘carefully observe’ the market moves. However, with his good adaption to the club and city, that ‘puts a brake’ on the chances of leaving Norwich City this summer.

The Canaries paid São Paulo €10.5m to sign Sara in the summer of 2022. In his first season with the Canaries, he had seven goals and four assists in 43 appearances, despite being a central midfielder.
